Using Assessment for Learning provides teachers and students with feedback to see if students have learned, progressed, or had a hard time with the material learned from class. Formulative and summative assessments allow teachers to gauge their progress and determine the degree of understanding for each student.

Elements include Clear Standards for Success, Monitoring Student Understanding, and Timely, Constructive Feedback. Teachers should assign graded homework at the end of every week to ensure that students are actively learning and knowing the material. If some students are struggling and receiving poor grades on the homework, the teacher should meet with the student and help them fully understand the content.
