Networking and Connecting

During my first semester in my freshman year, I took the course Technologies of Instruction, and in this course, I learned how to properly network and connect myself with different educators on social media. The first couple weeks of school, I was introduced to the website platforms, Wix and Weebly, and I made my very own teacher digital portfolio. My class and I were also introduced to Instagram and Pinterest and how to use both of these digital platforms educationally in the classroom.

Networking and connecting has helped me as a future teacher, because it has kept me informed and ensured I was up to date with the latest education development in the classroom. Having a professional Instagram page can allow future teachers to connect with other educators to prepare curriculum, exchange ideas, and learn other effective instructional methods. I have also built and created online relationships with educators, and I have gained inspiration on classroom activities, themes for my future classroom, teacher outfit examples, and other ideas from different educators from viewing their content on Instagram.

Pinterest and Instagram

I used both Pinterest and Instagram to share with other educators and classmates the different educational projects and research I did in and outside of class. For example, I shared different ed tech tools that I have worked on such as Lumio, Figjam, Lesson plans, Flip Grid, Blooket, Canva, etc. I shared these ed tech tools with the educational community, and showed how I used them in class. I also used Pinterest to create boards of the different Domains of the Danielson Framework for Teaching, and I found different pins that related to each Domain and included them on each board. I shared the different pins and ideas to the educational community on how different projects and classroom materials related to each Domain.
