Component 3E
Responding Flexibility to Student Needs
Responding Flexibly to Student Needs shows that teachers should be prepared for unanticipated events that might occur when introducing new classroom material. Teachers should be able to make minor or major adjustments when instructing to address all of the student's needs.
Elements include, Evidence-Based Adjustments, Receptiveness and Responsiveness, and Determination and Persistence. If a teacher was introducing fractions to the students and the initial approach to the concept did not make sense, that teacher should change that method of teaching, so that the students understand and learn basic fraction problems.
