Component 1C

Setting Instructional Outcomes

Specifies exactly what each student will be expected to learn throughout the course. This would give students an understanding of what they are learning, as well as how they will learn and demonstrate their skills of the content.

Concepts include Value and Relevance, Alignment to Grade-Level Standards, Clarity of Purpose, and Integration of Multiple Aspects of Student Development. Giving a course syllabus to students in the first week of school allows the students to see what they will be learning in the course and understand what will be expected from them.
