Engaging Families and Communities demonstrated that working with student’s families wanting to help students thrive and meet their goals creates successful teachers. 

 

Elements include Respect and Cultural Competence, Community Values, Instructional Program, and Engagement in Learning Experiences. Teachers should/have parent and teacher conferences in the beginning of the school year to establish and review goals for the student. The teacher also tells the parent what the student is doing well on, and what the student needs to improve on.
